The Easiest Way to Create a Form Cost Calculator for FREE for any website in 2024

Introduction

Having a form cost calculator on your website is a game-changer. It helps potential customers get rough estimates for your services, which can increase trust and set you apart from competitors. Plus, using a secure third-party tool like Tally.so ensures your data is safe.

Feel free to copy my format

Here goes!

So I asked myself these questions

What type of website do I need?

Do I need extra pages on my website? How many?

Am I building the site from scratch or revamping a current site?

Do I have the designs?

Do I have domain & hosting?

What features do I need integrated in my website?

Where will the development process take place?

So for this I used Tally.so

Step 1: Set Up the Calculator

  • Go to Tally.so, create a new form, and give it a relevant title (e.g., Web Design Estimator).

Add questions by using the “/” command and choosing multiple-choice. For example, ask, “What type of website would you like?” Options might include a blog, ecommerce, business, or portfolio site.

Add a calculated field named “Price” and start the number at zero. Then use conditional logic to calculate the price based on the options chosen, such as $2,500 for a blog site.

Next

type /calculated field and name it “price”  then number type = 0 (because that’s what you want to start out

-then add again /conditional logic When(what type of website would you like) is (Blog website)

Then (calculate) (price) Add + (2500 or depends on your pricing)

same goes for the other options

then

for the total type /h2 The current price is $

Tadaa! Works like a charm!

Step 2: Add Features

On the second page, ask, “What features would you like on your website?” Include options like a chat widget, booking system, multilingual support, or online calculator.

Same thing for this one

Use conditional logic again to calculate the price for each feature. Display the running total with a simple “/h2 The current price is $.”

*from here i hope you realize you can do more than just a calculator for costings 🙂

Step 3: Extra Pages and Custom Logic

For additional pages, ask, “How many webpages?” and use a linear scale (e.g., 1–10 pages). Use conditional logic to update the price accordingly, such as $100 per page.

But you can change it too with whatever you had it mind, could be the size of the lot, squarefeet, squaremeters.

and also we can add a yes or no options /Multiple-choice

You can even add a hidden scale block that only appears based on user input (e.g., “Do you need additional pages?”).

*HINT

Cool trick is that

We could also hide the scale block and add conditional logic

When they click on Yes the scale shows!

And then when they click No, the scale won’t show up and just proceed to the next tab

Step 4: Embed the Form

After creating the form, click “share” and choose the embed option. You can insert the form as a standard, popup, or full-page form on your website by pasting the provided code.

embed it on your website, click get the code here

And we’re done!
